I started making music in 1985, the first time someone put a guitar in my hands, I played live and also spontaneous became also the singer of the band with a drummer and bass guitarist.
We started studio “Akkabar”, a simple studio setup with Casio drumcomputers, guitars, bass guitars and lots of effects, electronic
& analog band echo’s. So made some weird soundscapes as a kind of ambient. (link projects history)
Two years later, I started making electronic music, actually at the moment when music software on the Atari and Amiga became reliable and it was possible to save and load and continue working.
So in 1987 I also stared to work in the CEM (Centre Electronic Music)
in Arnhem (NL), with my own projects and also followed some courses there : Trans (experimental mathematic music composer program) and a project to make my own MIDI sequencer by programming in Pascal. I also did some courses in digital & analog sound processing. I worked with analogue synthesizers like : the ARP, MOOG & KORG. As a volunteer I also helped to install cable ducts in the CEM studio to patch and rewire the whole studio, with multi cables and patch bays. I gained insights from which I still benefit today. That formed the basis for starting my own professional studio which is by now after 15 years practically finished.

DeepTranceMediumfrtsm In 1991, when my Atari-based Studio was finished, I started my project “Deep Trance Medium” with a lot of Atari hardware editors and Atari-Cubase. I had some digital synths and my first sampler : Akai S2000 and my first analogue synth :
The Braintec - Transistorbass 3, a double 303 clone with midi. I had a few live performances, but in these days, I didn't have the money to perform light.
So every time I had to take all my studio gear with me, a large car full of stuff. After more than 10 years, the Atari became to old and slow for me (and out of spare parts), and I wanted more “virtual analogue” and real analogue synthesizers with midi. So I started to focus more on collecting 303 / 808 / 909 clones & Replicas.

The tracks were recorded with my old Atari studio setting and are made before the millennium, but were only released for recording in 2011. So they were on my hard drive all the time, before I came across them. I Remastered the tracks with Ozone.

So in 2005 I started to rebuild my Atari into a PC studio, I had to find new editors and software and convert all movie files and arrangements to PC formats. That took a lot of my time. In 2006 I started working in the “Willemeen” (pop-centre Arnhem) and starting DJing (Psybient, Psytrance & Forest). I also worked with the lights and and organized parties, designed posters and flyers. It took so much of my time, there was no time left to build my studio.
In 2012 I restarted my studio project and now I had earned some money, to invest. And I spend it very efficiently by buying all my equipment second hand or cheap. It took me 6 years to sell the old equipment and buy the new ones. In 2016 I started my new Energetic Vortex project, based on my old & new ReBirth tracks. I used Remaker to convert my Rebirth compositions into midi and worked it out in Cubase to control the midi-hardware.

In 2022 my new PC based Audio/Visual Production Studio was finished. I have brought together new analogue and digital hardware in my studio, which can do many times more than the analogue studio of the CEM where I used to work. With my new MIDEX midi interface I have a better structure to work with these complex electronics.
Also my new mixer is total creazy, the Soundcraft ui24r. Very hightech equipment, with lots of possibilities, it took me a year, with the help of YouTube help video’s (see my YT playlists), to understand all functions and use them in practice. So, to produce acid techno, I had to opt for an analog hardware setup, with some digital sampling and effect processing. It took me a lot of time to read all the manuals and even do some hardware repairs on the RE-303 / TEEBEE / Supernova II Rack. And I also had an RE-303 and an RE-909 built with all kinds of extra MODs and upgrades. Everything works now and and can finally get all to work.
